45 Mix Trackr was created by SH, a New York–based designer who DJs vinyl as a hobby. While recording and editing mixes, SH realized how time-consuming it was to manually identify tracks, organize metadata, and prepare everything for publishing.
What started as a personal solution to speed up this workflow turned into a tool designed to help other DJs and creators do the same — faster and easier. Upload any audio or video mix and get a timestamped tracklist with titles, artists and album covers, plus an SRT subtitle file for your video edit.

How it works

Segment
Your mix is cut into 60-second windows so each track gets its own look, even inside a long blend.

Fingerprint
Spectral peaks in each window are hashed into compact codes that survive pitch shifts, EQ and room noise.

Match
Those hashes are compared against ACRCloud’s database of millions of released recordings.

Assemble
Matches are merged into a clean timestamped tracklist with covers, an SRT file and a ZIP of artwork.
A recorded vinyl set is a file with one name and no track information. Everything a listener needs — what played, who made it, and when it came in — lives only in the DJ's memory, and it fades fast.
The manual alternative is genuinely tedious: scrub to a transition, hold a phone to a speaker, wait for a match, write it down, repeat thirty times. A two-hour mix can take most of a day, which is why so many mixes get published with no tracklist at all. The artists in that set go uncredited, and listeners who wanted to buy the record never find out what it was.
45 Mix Trackr exists to make that step take minutes instead of an afternoon, so publishing a properly credited mix stops being a chore worth skipping.

Fingerprinting matches audio against a database. It cannot identify what was never put in one, and no tool can. Expect gaps on:
- Unreleased tracks, dubplates, and your own edits
- White-label and vinyl-only pressings that were never digitally distributed
- Heavily pitch-shifted audio, beyond roughly ±10%
- Long blends where two records share the frequency spectrum
Accuracy on commercially released electronic music is typically 85–95%. On a set of rare 45s it can be far lower. That is a distribution reality, not something a better algorithm fixes — and we would rather say so up front than have you discover it after uploading.
A free account includes 3 mix identifications per month, with no credit card required. Premium removes the monthly limit. There is no free tier without an account, because each identification costs us a fingerprinting API call.
Every article on this site is written by SH, drawn from actually recording, editing and publishing mixes rather than from summarising other articles. Guides carry a byline and a last-updated date, and we revise them when something changes rather than leaving a stale year in the title.
Where a guide recommends a product, the reasoning is included along with who it is not for. If a cheaper option does the same job, we say so.
